Hannah Sweeney

LCSW, Individual & Couples Therapist

As a therapist, my focus is creating an authentic space where genuine expression thrives. This environment allows for a strong therapeutic bond, which is shown in the research to be the greatest predictor of positive client change. I value authenticity, clarity of communication, gentle self accountability, and honesty with self and within the therapeutic dynamic.

While I take a flexible approach to treatment, I commonly use the following orientations: EMDR and parks work for trauma reprocessing, Emotion Focused Therapy and attachment theory lenses to explore relational and emotional depths, somatic and mindfulness based inquiries to support embodiment and present moment awareness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to increase overall awareness of self and the internal experience.

I am also seeing couples on a limited basis, and utilize an Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) approach to couples work. This orientation is rooted in attachment theory and supports couples in restructuring their emotional bonds to rewrite painful patterns and increase emotional attunement.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Arizona, and a Licensed Masters Social Work in Nevada. I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno. Through the versatile knowledge I’ve gathered in different areas of my career, I’ve found I am drawn to supporting trauma survivors and those healing from complex emotional experiences.

Out in the world, you’ll find me in nature, expressing my heart through creation and movement.
